To amplify the voice of over 5 million Indian Americans—who, despite their vast contributions in technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and academia, remain underrepresented in policy influence—**the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) will host Capitol Hill Day 2025 on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
Building on the momentum of the 2024 Capitol Hill Day, where 135 Indian American delegates from 22 states met with nearly 100 elected officials from 35 states, FIIDS continues to elevate key issues shaping U.S.–India relations and the Indian American community. Last year’s discussions covered:
- ICET and tech export exemptions for India
- Indo-Pacific security and cooperation
- Immigration reforms including the removal of the 7% per-country green card cap
- Religious bias and hate crimes against Indian Americans
- Importance of Critical (rare) minerals for the US

- Strategic Opportunities in the TRUST Act, MDP and IMEC (India–Middle East–Europe Corridor)
